Prayer ideas
These are just two of many models of prayer that you could encourage as part of HOPE. The HOPE for the Future book holds many more and expands on these themes, along with a huge list of prayer resources.
Corporate prayer
One powerful way is engage with Hope Prayer is to arrange for a corporate inter- church prayer event to pray for your area and seek God’s guidance and blessing on future plans for HOPE in your area. Some regions have really established corporate area-wide prayer events and networks. Where this has happened they have become accepted as part of the church calendar and it encourages, inspires and refreshes to enable people to keep on living out their faith. Healing on the streets
Many areas are continuing to offer Healing on the Streets as part of HOPE in their locality - Christians going out onto the streets of their towns and cities, offering to pray for people’s physical and emotional healing. Volunteers make it their goal to reach the community and seize the opportunity to talk to people and pray for them and their health issues, often with positive tangible results. Several projects started healing rooms in cities across the UK with great success. HOPE Nottingham, formerly NG9, which is about to launch is hosting a Healing on the Streets conference and 120 believers have signed up for practical training on participating in healing outreach.
A declaration of HOPE
A declaration of HOPE was used throughout 2008 in homes, churches and for community prayer events. It is still relevant and you could pray the prayer or use it for reflection, or maybe write your own version and share it with us! |
