Local media

The journalists at your local paper or radio station are always looking for a good story to report on, no matter what the subject.  Find out about your nearest papers by visiting the Media UK Directory.

 Pile of Newspapers

Every story needs an angle that will catch people’s attention, and that is what the media is looking for. There is usually an interesting hook somewhere. Try writing a story on your HOPE event or social project and have a go at seeing if you can develop a relationship with a local reporter or two.

It is important to raise interest by including local celebrities or public figures such as politicians. News stories should be kept short and simple, easy to read for everyone. Photographs tell stories as well; therefore it is helpful to include a picture of the event that shows an interesting place or action.
