Church leaders urge whole Church to pray

HOPE encourages young and old to be ‘PART’ of the All Praying Together weekend

Church leaders of all denominations are calling the whole Church to be part of a national weekend of prayer and fasting. All Praying Together, from 7-9 September led by HOPE, is for everyone - individuals and churches.

HOPE has released a range of All Praying Together resources, contributed by their partners in various denominations and ministries to make sure that Christians of every age and worship style can join this contributed by their partners in various denominations and ministries to make sure that Christians of every age and worship style can join this movement of prayer.

Plans to hold the All Praying Together weekend began at the HOPE Leaders’ Forum in 2011 when the event’s host, Pastor Agu Irukwu, Senior Pastor at Jesus House, described the Church as ‘a body of reformers’ and called for united prayer and fasting for the nation.

“The more seriously we approach prayer and fasting, the more serious the results we will experience in our missional journey” said Pastor Agu.

At summer youth festivals thousands of teenagers are being encouraged to play their PART – (Pray, Abstain, and Reach out Together), taking a lead in All Praying Together. They will receive a card to remind them to pray, fast, and share hope through words and actions in their community.

All Praying Together links with the cascade of prayer taking place throughout the Games and begins as soon as the Paralympics is over. It culminates in the National Day of Prayer, on Saturday 29 September when thousands of Christians will be praying together at Wembley

The All Praying Together resources include fasting guides, Bible studies, all-age prayer activities, a youth pack, a children’s pack, creative ideas, reflections on The Lord’s Prayer, liturgy, church service and sermon outlines. www.hopetogether.org.uk

Roy Crowne, Executive Director of HOPE said: "We know we have a powerful God and that prayer can change situations. As ambassadors of God’s heavenly kingdom let’s be praying as well as responding to needs in our villages, towns and cities. All Praying Together focuses on prayer for God to renew the Church, equipping us to reach out into our communities in words and action
